Eduardo Larranaga

Eduardo was born in Lima, Peru; and from a very young age he had a close bond with the sea. Little by little he was acquiring diverse experiences, thanks to surfing and windsurfing, being windsurfing a sport that allowed him to know unique places of the Peruvian coast, besides being a source of work, since he was dedicated to the instruction of this sport for many years.

At the age of 19 he fulfilled one of his dreams, embarking on a sailboat in the bay of Paracas to make his first voyage to Easter Island. Years later he made a second voyage by sailboat from Brazil to South Africa, passing through places full of wildlife such as Tristan da Cunha. Surely this contact with the sea and nature was what led him to study biology. He had the opportunity to investigate humpback whales in northern Peru, work for the Galapagos National Park and in Tierra del Fuego.

Twelve years ago he started kayaking and for the last six years he has been working as a sea kayak guide in the Arctic and Antarctica, a job he enjoys very much, since he combines his passion for nature and sport. It is precisely the latter that motivates him to guide in Peru with "Sea Kayak Paracas" so that more people have the opportunity to enjoy and protect the Peruvian sea.

Eduardo is also certified as a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and is an ACA (American Canoe Association) level 3 kayak instructor.
